Sleeplessness

‘I couldn’t sleep in those days, sometimes I had to laugh at myself. When I did drop off it was as if my body were falling asleep beside me, dreaming while awake. I was closer to you than ever. So I had to stamp my authority on sleep the way a suspicious master entrusts himself to a servant, I had to forget you.’
